Bring it into your team

The declaration is most useful when it travels into real teams and organisations. Here are practical ways to bring it into your work — as an individual, a team lead, or an organisation.

Run a team conversation

Use the declaration as the prompt for a 30-minute team discussion: which principles already hold in how we work, and where do we fall short?

  1. Read it together first — fifteen minutes, no preamble — or ask everyone to read it beforehand.
  2. Go round the room: where is AI already happening to us, where is it happening for us, and where are we genuinely shaping it with each other?
  3. Everyone leaves with one commitment for their own work, and the team picks one change to revisit in a month.

Adopt it as a team or organisation

Reference the declaration in how your team approaches AI. Signatures remain personal — adopting the principles is a separate, explicit choice your team makes together.

  1. Share it and invite everyone to sign as individuals first. Adopting the principles is a choice you make together, not one handed down.
  2. Pick the two or three principles you break most often, and turn them into working norms you can hold each other to.
  3. Name someone to keep it honest: revisit the norms, surface where AI is making the work better or worse, and adjust.

Share it with your network

The simplest contribution: help more people read it and decide for themselves. A short, personal note travels further than a generic post.

Using the declaration in your team does not imply endorsement by your employer, and signing remains a personal act unless your organisation explicitly states otherwise.

Start by signing

The most credible way to bring the declaration into your team is to sign it yourself first.
