Why this exists

AI is moving faster than most people, organisations, and leaders are ready for. The AI Declaration exists to say, publicly, that the transition should happen with people and for people, not only to them — and to give everyone who believes that a place to stand, and a way to be counted.

Who initiated it

The AI Declaration was initiated by Mindstone and first signed by practitioners, leaders, educators, technologists, and workforce voices who believe the AI transition should preserve human agency. Mindstone maintains the site and signing infrastructure. The declaration is not an endorsement of any company or product.

How the text is maintained

The text is stewarded with the founding signatories. It is meant to get better in practice than it is on paper, so the words may evolve — but the spirit will not, and any material change will be noted publicly.
